We will likely see increases in type 1 doabet s once they have all the data from the Covid years- infection widely reported to trigger type 1 in some children.

But RFK JR won’t want to talk about that

Its genetic/environmental but triggered by viral infections. Exact cause is unknown. Ongoing research to identify and prevent this, if they didn't cancel those grants. https://www.cidrap.umn.edu/research-explores-possible-link-between-type-1-diabetes-covid-19

It does seem plausible there could be a rise. Covids a pretty scattershot pathogen (somewhat like influenza actually, which would whack anything it can get its grubby mits on, if not for that pesky immune system, but *worse*) so the idea of pancreatic damage is certainly not implausible, considering it damages pretty much all organs if given a chance.
